Music is a universal language and one of the highest forms of creativity. The academy is very proud of it's musical abilities and aim to provide children with the opportunities to learn and perform within a variety of different musical genres. We have a number of outside music specialist providers, offer peripatetic music lessons for our children and have established links with the highly successful Gawthorpe Brass Band.
Our music education aims to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and allow them to access to a variety of high quality music teaching from a various specialists so increasing their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement.
We offer a progressive curriculum where children are given the opportunity to compose and create as well as play and perform using a variety of instruments.
The academy also offer various extra curricula musical clubs and are part of EOCT music, which allows us to partake in events such as the West Yorkshire Police Safer Communities Video Project, which aims to bring together a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds, thus promoting tolerance and acceptance within the community.
